This painting was dedicated to exploring how human nature is able to enhance the nature of nature.

Typically, there are not golden magnolias. The inspiration and the concept came to me from the shapes of the magnolia blossoms  and from the shapes of  their petals. This provoked me to employ heavy tones, made without blue and white. To do that, I used similar techniques from the styles of the old masters -- Rembrandt, Velasquez and Vermeer, for example.  Similarly, I used this also to bring the light out of the painting, not to be a reflection from an outside source. These magnolias are bringing light and warmness.

Technically there are no prefabricated textures on the canvas surface--no gels, pastes or artificial texture.  Only oil paint applied layer after layer builds the essence of the flowers.

Heavy brush and palette knife textures are employed as a result of the process of creating.  Step by step I built the textured outlines of the shapes. This was done intentionally to create a 3- Dimensional appearance.  Only this would allow constantly changing contrasts and shadows from the movement of outside light.  The textured outlines are alive. They move in accordance with the light. The light enhances the relief of the texture.

The contrast of burgundies, deep wine reds and golden ochres in the shapes of the petals were composed via the reverse perspective and turned into another ineffable dimension. You are invited to go beyond the visual perception and to experience the phenomena of engaging your gray matter.
